BookApkBuilder 1.1 — turn an audiobook into an Android app

BookApkBuilder 1.1 is a portable Windows tool that creates a standalone Android app from your audio files. Audio and the chosen cover are embedded in the APK. Once installed on Android, the book can be played without a computer or internet connection.

Unzip the entire archive, run BookApkBuilder.exe, add audio, enter a title, select a cover and build an APK. All required build tools are bundled: no separate Java, Android Studio, Android SDK, Gradle, Python or FFmpeg installation is needed. Building works offline.

Features: one file or multiple chapters; custom title, author and cover; original audio without recompression or 64/96/128 kbps mono MP3; one app, two volumes or automatic splitting by size. The player includes saved position, playback speed, seeking, bookmarks and a sleep timer.

Requirements: Windows 10/11 x64 on Intel/AMD; 4 GB RAM recommended. Actually tested on Windows 11; Windows 10 has not been separately tested. Generated apps require Android 8.0 or newer. No iPhone, macOS, Linux or 32-bit Windows version.

Limit: 1.8 GB per APK. Larger books must be compressed or split. This release has not been tested on a physical Android phone. Extended background playback, headset controls and battery saving must be checked on the target device.

Includes the builder, bundled tools, instructions, demo player and a sample with two short synthetic audio clips. No audiobooks are included.

Price: 29 RUB. The buyer receives a ZIP archive of approximately 263 MB. The extracted bundle takes about 600 MB, plus space for input audio, temporary files and finished APKs. Keep _internal, runtime and tools next to BookApkBuilder.exe.

Verified: the Windows 11 x64 GUI starts; the relocated executable built three signed APKs without external Java, Android SDK or Gradle configuration. Original-mode test audio was preserved byte for byte.

This is an early release. Installation and playback on a physical Android phone, long background playback and APKs close to the 1.8 GB limit have not been verified.

Use your own recordings or content you are authorized to use. Source audio files are preserved. The seller’s private signing keys and personal audiobooks are not included.
