The metal has the shape of a rectangular parallelepiped with volume V. When determining the number of quantum states of an electron in a given energy interval, assume that they are physically different only those states in which the momentum projections differ by no less than Dрх = 2пh/lx, lx is the edge of the “box” of volume V (similarly for Dру and Dpz).
