An absolutely solid homogeneous beam of weight P and length L lies on two absolutely solid symmetrically located supports, the distance between which is equal to l (figure). One of the supports is knocked out. Find the initial value of the pressure force F acting on the remaining support. Consider the special case when l = L. Why does the force F change abruptly when the support is knocked out?
