A carburetor internal combustion engine operates in a cycle consisting of four sequential processes: adiabatic compression from state A to state B, isochoric transition from state B to state C as a result of heating the air during combustion of the combustible mixture, adiabatic expansion from state C to state D and isochoric transition from state D to the initial state A (Fig. 8.3). Calculate the engine efficiency for the case if air were an ideal monatomic gas at temperatures in states A, B, C and D, respectively, TA=300 K, TB=524 K, TC=786 K and TD=450 K.
