Consider corrosion of tinned copper at pH=5. What metal will corrode? Determine whether the process proceeds with oxygen or hydrogen depolarization? Write the equations of the cathodic and anode processes and the reaction equation. Calculate the EMF of the corrosive element and ΔrG0298 of the possible reaction, assuming the activity of the corroding metal ions to be 10-3.
