Calculate the quantitative content of hydrocortisone if 0.1035 g of the drug (weight loss on drying 0.5%) is dissolved in a 100 ml volumetric flask in ethanol, (solution A). 1 ml of solution A was transferred to a 100 ml volumetric flask and made up to the mark with the same solvent. The optical density of the solution, measured at 271 nm with an absorbing layer thickness of 9.97 mm, was 0.460, the value of the specific absorption index was 448.
