Determine [H] and pH of the formate buffer formed with a mixture of 0.1 N. HCOOH solution and 1 N. HCOONa solution. Write the reaction equations for its interaction with small amounts of strong acids and bases. Explain the effect of a buffer solution when adding acids and bases.
