In one parallel world, Dr. Eggman controls powerful and evil beings – the Deadly Six. They terrorize their planet, draining it of energy to fuel themselves and become stronger. Sonic the Hedgehog intercepts the artifact that Eggman used to control the Six, but during their altercation, the creatures escape and begin wreaking havoc without any outside control. Now the hedgehog and the villain must work together to capture and neutralize their common enemies.

• Protect your lives! Collect rings throughout the levels to protect yourself from demonic forces. When you´re attacked, you´ll lose them; however, if you´re without rings when a monster hits you, you´ll lose life points.
• Be like Spider-Man. Parkour mechanics are introduced to the game for the first time: Sonic can jump and run not only on the ground, but also on walls to maintain his momentum.
