The protagonist, Frank West, falls into the small town of Willamette, where ten years ago he was confronted with a brutal zombie invasion. Frank himself, being a photojournalist, managed to become famous and impoverished. Now he is waiting for the most important investigation: he must again be in the ill-fated shopping center, where he first met the horror of the walking dead.
